Anupam Thareja, an investor and serial entrepreneur, is a turnaround expert in the financial and corporate world in more ways than one. He has taken the road less traveled to entrepreneurial success, eschewing the comfort of running a successful family business.
Starting from advertising to corner offices at top global banks, from a management trainee to heading Country Operations at a global bank in a short span of seven years was his first noteworthy accomplishment as a young leader. This was the stepping stone for what would be his success ladder in managing teams and building businesses of all shapes and sizes.
These experiences culminated to fruition as Phi Capital, a Private Equity turnaround fund. Phi has built over 10 remarkable businesses and brand successes across sectors and still continues to do so. He has served on the Boards of many companies in sectors like Engineering, Social, Automobiles, Retail, NBFCs, and a soccer club.
His flair for all things classic was the instinct beside him through his journey that started the revival of Royal Enfield Motorcycles. Now reintroducing iconic brands like JAWA, Yezdi and BSA is both his passion and pride, combining his love of riding with the thrill of reviving motorcycling legends.
When not in a boardroom charting the future or building brands, he likes to unwind by dipping into poetry and plays – from Shakespeare to Ghalib or devouring books from strategy to philosophy with a glass of his favorite single malt. A national-level athlete and being what he calls a “wellness foodie”. He believes in “staying fit to nurture one’s vices for a long time”!
